Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Healing Light (Yulia Gebel, Santa Barbara, California; “I,” “me”) collects through gethealinglight.com and in connection with sessions, how I use it, who it is shared with, and your choices. I am a small, one-person practice and treat your information with care.

1. Information I collect

Contact form: your name, email address, optional phone number, and your message.
Client intake and consent form (for booked clients): identity and contact details (name, address, date of birth, phone, email, emergency contact), occupation and household information, health and wellbeing information you choose to share (reason for your visit, medications, health history, injuries, surgeries, lifestyle habits, and life events), your touch preference, your consent choices, and your typed electronic signature with the date and time you submitted the form. Questions are optional unless marked required. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing.
Booking: appointments are booked on Square Appointments. Square collects your name, email, phone number, appointment details, and any notes you add, and shares the booking details with me. If you pay by card through Square, Square processes the payment; I don't receive your full card number.
Communications: emails, texts, and calls you exchange with me, and notes I keep about our sessions.
Technical information: this website uses no analytics, no advertising pixels, and no cookies of its own. My web host, Cloudflare, processes standard technical data (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) to deliver and protect the site. The intake page uses hCaptcha to block spam; hCaptcha may collect device and browser information and set cookies under its own privacy policy.

2. How I use information

To reply to your questions; to schedule and provide sessions; to prepare for sessions and look after your comfort and safety; to keep records required by law (including your signed disclosure acknowledgment, which California law requires me to keep for three years); to handle payments and cancellations and keep business records; and to protect the site from spam and abuse. I don't use your information for advertising.

I do not sell or rent your personal information, and I don't share it for advertising. I share it only:

With the service providers that run the practice: Web3Forms (delivers contact and intake form submissions to my email), my email provider (where those messages are stored), Square (booking and payments), Zoom (remote sessions), Cloudflare (website hosting), and hCaptcha (spam protection on the intake page). Each handles data under its own terms and privacy policy.
With your permission, for example with a provider you ask me to contact.
Without your name or identifying details, with a professional supervisor or peers, only if you choose that option on the consent form.
When required by law (for example, a subpoena or court order), or when I believe in good faith that disclosure is needed to prevent a serious and imminent risk of harm to you or someone else.

Because I am not a licensed healthcare provider, your information is generally not covered by HIPAA, and our communications are not legally privileged the way communications with a licensed therapist or physician can be. I still treat everything you share as confidential, within the limits described here.

4. Third-party sites and tracking

The “Book” buttons take you to Square's website, and remote sessions use Zoom. Those services have their own privacy policies and may use cookies or similar technologies, including tracking across websites. Other than the hCaptcha check on the intake page, gethealinglight.com does not allow third parties to collect personal information about your online activities over time and across other websites.

5. Do Not Track

Because this website does not track visitors over time or across other websites, it does not change its behavior in response to browser “Do Not Track” signals.

6. Cookies

This website sets no cookies of its own. hCaptcha (intake page only) and Square (booking pages, on Square's website) may set their own cookies.

7. How long I keep information

I keep signed disclosure and consent forms for at least three years, as California law requires. I keep other information only as long as I need it for the purposes above or as required by law (for example, tax records), and then delete it.

8. Security

I use reasonable safeguards for the kind of information involved. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, I will notify you as California law requires.

9. Your choices

You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information I hold about you by emailing [email protected]. I will respond within a reasonable time, except where I am required to keep records (such as your signed disclosure acknowledgment). You can skip any optional question on my forms.

10. Children

This website is not directed to children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect their information online. Sessions for anyone under 18 require a parent or legal guardian's consent and signature, and a parent or guardian should complete forms for a minor.

11. Changes to this policy

I may update this policy. I'll post the new version on this page with a new “last updated” date, and for material changes I'll also place a notice on the home page.
